Code in the Dark
Code in the Dark at SuperComp 2026: study a website for 10 minutes, then rebuild it in HTML, CSS and JS without ever seeing your own page. Teams of three.
You see a target website for ten minutes. Then it's gone, and you rebuild it in HTML, CSS and JavaScript without ever seeing a rendered preview of your own page.
Programming · Team of 1–3 · 03:00 PM–04:00 PM · 1 hr · Rs 1,500 entry · Rs 15K prize
How it works
- Viewing (10 min): The target site is on screen. Take notes on paper; this is the only time you'll see it.
- Coding: Write index.html, style.css and script.js. CDN libraries and the organizers' assets are allowed; a Check button runs a syntax check.
- Locked: Editing closes. Your page is rendered for the first time, as a screenshot beside the target.
Setup
- Teams of three sharing one lab PC, in a locked exam browser
- A locked editor with no preview: you see your code and syntax errors, never the page
- A text-only AI assistant on a Groq key your team brings
Judging
- Judges compare each team's rendered screenshot side by side with the target.
- If your team's AI key stops working, there's no spare: carry on without it.
