Speed Programming
Speed Programming at SuperComp 2026: two hours of algorithm problems, judged automatically against hidden tests, ranked by problems solved and time.
A classic programming contest: a set of algorithm problems, two hours, and an automatic judge that runs every submission against hidden test cases.
Programming · Team of 1–3 · 10:00 AM–12:00 PM · 2 hrs · Rs 1,500 entry · Rs 20K prize
How it works
- Briefing: A practice problem to check the editor and the judge before the clock starts.
- Contest (2 hrs): Six problems, any order. Each one is right or wrong: the judge returns Accepted, Wrong Answer, Time Limit, Memory Limit, Runtime Error or Compile Error on every submission.
- Freeze (Last 30 min): The scoreboard freezes, so the final standings are revealed at the end.
Setup
- Lab PCs in a locked exam browser, one PC per team
- Code in the portal's editor in C++17, Python 3, Java 21 or Node 20
- Bring only your student ID
Judging
- Most problems solved wins.
- Ties go to the lowest penalty time: the minutes to each accepted solution, plus 20 minutes for every wrong try on a problem you later solve.
- Still tied: the earlier last accepted submission.
- Slower languages get fairer limits: Python 3×, Java and Node 2× the C++ time limit.
